2017 Lab
The second annual MITTEN Lab took place from October 8-15, 2017 - it was the first residency at our permanent home in Bear Lake, MI. The 2017 artists included Detroit-based playwright Morgan Breon, Philadelphia-based playwright Jacqueline Goldfinger, and New York-based composer/lyricist Zack Zadek.
Co-founders Katherine Carter and Rachel Sussman hosted a "New Play Development Workshop" with Interlochen Arts Academy high school drama students on Friday, October 13th, providing skills and context for what it means to be an actor performing work that is still actively in process.
We showcased a free presentation of works-in-progress from the three artists-in-residence of the 2017 MITTEN Lab on Saturday, October 14th at Interlochen's Harvey Theater. Presented in partnership with Parallel 45 Theatre and Interlochen Center for the Arts, this public event featured Parallel 45 company actors alongside Interlochen Arts Academy students.
